TERRAZZO WORKER

Salary: $30-$35 Hourly (Compensation Depending on Experience)

Responsibilities:

• Apply a mixture of cement, sand, pigment, or marble chips to floors, stairways, and cabinet fixtures to fashion durable and decorative surfaces

• Modify mixing, grouting, grinding, or cleaning procedures, according to type of installation or material used

• Spread, level, or smooth concrete or terrazzo mixtures to form bases or finished surfaces, using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds, or floats

• Move terrazzo installation materials, tools, machines, or work devices to work areas, manually or using wheelbarrow

• Build wooden molds, clamping molds around areas to be repaired, or setting up frames to the proper depth and alignment

• Utilize skills in other trades to enhance flooring installations

• Conduct routine visual inspections to ensure quality workmanship

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

• Report directly to the Project Manager and collaborate effectively within a team

 

Qualifications:

• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate driver’s license prior to employment

• 3-5 year combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work

• Successful completion of a 10 hour OSHA safety course

• Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions

• Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in the building trades

• Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions

• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule

• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions

• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely

• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions

• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency

• Experience in other trades is a plus

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

• Team player with excellent time management skills

• Prior customer service experience is valued

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for extended periods, and lift up to 50+ lbs

• Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment

• Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions, including exposure to moderate/high noise levels, dust, and confined spaces

• Regular, physical on-site attendance is required

 

Environmental Conditions:

• Travel to various work sites daily

• Work in varying temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, including inclement weather conditions

• Exposure to moderate/high noise levels and airborne particles

• May work in confined spaces or from high heights
